Vancouver's West End: the early days.

I am writing a novel that includes  scenes of the downtown waterfront and Chinatown around 1920, and a wedding and reception scene at Saint Paul's church on Jarvis Street and  the Sylvia Hotel at English Bay in   the late nineteen thirties. If anyone knows the full name of Sylvia Goldstein's father or has information about the early days of  English Bay, the Sylvia hotel, Chinatown, or the Vancouver waterfront, please drop me a line. Also I would like read the Bio of the black man who was the first lifeguard at English Bay. Though I now live in Bellingham, my heart will always be in Vancouver's West end and English Bay.

Cheers,

David Caulfield
